Activities
I am an undergraduate biology student at Simón Bolívar University with more than three years of research experience in the field of marine ecology and data management. Currently, I am working with spatial variation of juvenile corals in Venezuela in the Experimental Ecology Laboratory. I always had great curiosity and passion for the field of ecology and conservation, specially related to marine ecosystems.
Skills
I really enjoy the field trips (scuba diving (5 specialties)), data analysis and discussion of results. My skills with statistical software are R (intermediate), Primer.v6+PERMANOVA (proficient), with image analysis in Photoquad (proficient) and with Geographic Information System ArcGIS (intermediate).
I have learned to work well either in team or individual projects, thanks to my long trajectory on student governance and working on my lab and NGOs, I particularly enjoy teamwork because I have learned many things from my colleagues. While doing surveys, field trips and talks along the Venezuelan coast, I've learned several ways to communicate scientific information to non-specialized public. I'm the youngest venezuelan member of the World Commission on Protected Areas (IUCN). I'm very persistent and have good problem solving capacities, specially while working under pressure.
