Forum on Operational oceanography in Eastern Europe (Group II)
Summary

The meeting to be held in Varna, Bulgaria on 19-23 March 2012, co-organized by KORDI (Korean Ocean Research and Development Institute) and Institute of Oceanology, Bulgarian Academy of Science. The workshop is devoted to: - “The future of IOC in next 10 years” and implications for member states including Republic of Korea, with participation of past chairs (Javier Valladares, Su Ji Lan, David Pugh, and Geoff Holland). - Forum on “Operational oceanography in Eastern Europe (Group II)”. This meeting will involve representatives from Member States bordering the Black Sea, the Caspian Sea, the Adriatic Sea and the North Sea. The meeting will facilitate the exchange of experiences in operational oceanography in those regions. Participants will present national reports and the proceedings will form the first comprehensive publication on the state of operational oceanography in Eastern Europe.
