Activities
In this position, I am in charge of developing and
supervising fisheries and environmental research projects. I am also in charge
of establishing cooperation with other national and international organizations
to develop and execute marine research projects. I have
developed leadership and administrative skills in the development of research
fishery and environmental programs, organizing and conducting educational
workshops with fishers and others liders from NGO's, and participating in and presenting lectures at
national and international meetings, workshops and conferences. I have also
developed strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain strong relationships
with fishers, both artisanal and industrial, with the academia, NGO and
government partners, as well as to work effectively as part of a highly
collaborative research team.
Skills
My professional skills are related to the management, marine policies and governance of marine-coastal resources, as well as to the international cooperation in fisheries and the environment. I also have experience not only as a Technical and Scientific Director in the public administration, but also as a university professor in the Academy. I possess statistical
analysis knowledge as well as the facility to communicate in three languages:
Spanish, English and Portuguese.

I am particularly interested in the human dimensions of marine
conservation that use protected areas, ecosystem-based management and
fisheries conservation technologies, as well as marine biodiversity and
climate variability to know the climate impacts on bio-aquatic resources
and coastal communities.
